The Tower Bridge is a beautiful suspension bridge that stretches over the River Thames. It gets its name from the famous Tower Of London, which is located just a few minutes walk away.

The building of this monumental landmark started in 1886 and took 8 years of hard labour and a total of 432 construction workers to complete. What makes this bridge unique is the bascules, which can be raised to allow tall ships to pass through. It is estimated that the bascules are raised around 1000 times every year!

There is no other way to truly experience the glorious tower bridge then to drive over it in your own hire car. Here you can admire the amazing paintwork and the detail that has gone into the making of this bridge. As well as the spectacular views of the river Thames below.

There are several things to remember when driving over the bridge, firstly it is in the congestion charge zone, which means you will have to pay £8 to drive around that area. This can be paid by phone, text or online. The other is that it has hidden speed cameras in it, so make sure you stay under the limit!
